Live BandsHighly StrungHighly Strung is comprised of Bernadette McCoy and Mary O’Mahony on violins, and Justin McCoy on guitar and vocals. These three Sydney musicians were founding members of the popular Eighties orchestral rock group Hat Trick. Their repertoire is extensive and covers the styles of jazz, light classical themes from popular shows and instrumental arrangements of classical pop tunes, e.g. Beatle songs. The group has a range of international and folk music, which includes Irish and Scottish jigs and reels, Yiddish tunes and Gypsy Fiddle musicals, as well as popular tunes from many European countries. The main criteria are that the music is well known and is performed with enthusiasm and enjoyment on their part, which is invariably conveyed to the guests. Highly Strung generally performs acoustically which gives them the freedom to position themselves anywhere in the venue, providing ambience to mingle with the guests and play theatre requests if invited. HarpistsElegant Memories: Elizabeth LowrencevElizabeth Lowrencev has been singing whilst accompanying herself on the harp for over a decade, as well as performing as a vocal soloist. Her training began at an early age with the Australian Children's Choir. She has since sung at many functions & ceremonies, including: weddings, dinner parties, civic events, church services, concerts, expos, corporate functions and private parties. Elizabeth has also performed on stage at the National theatre (Melbourne), singing a number of principle roles with the Savoy Opera Co. She was a soloist for the CD "Hail Redeemer" recorded at the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, Melbourne, Victoria. In her extensive repertoire, Elizabeth has many secular songs as well as hymns. She is also happy to learn new songs and arrange music for the harp. In fact, most of her repertoire has been built on requests. Elizabeth is very pleased to be able to bring your dreams to life with your favourite song arranged to suite the harp. Elizabeth's harp was made in Australia from an attractive Birdseye
maple wood and is 4 1/2 feet tall. Its size makes it large enough
to produce a sweet, mellow tone, whilst still being very portable.
Elizabeth's combination of harp & voice has been enjoyed by
many, and has been described as heavenly, unforgettable and wonderful.
